<P>她生长于加拿大的西方教育与环境里，却拥有中国传统女子的娴静端庄、温柔淑丽；她用12年的时间攻读了医学学士、硕士和博士学位，却历时17载始完成首部科幻小说；她是一位头脑严谨，以眼见为实、无懈可击的实验数据得出专业论断的科学家，而她的笔下却呈现了天马行空、光怪陆离的奇异世界。 <BR> <BR>詹妮弗·阮(Jennifer Rahn)，现为加拿大卡尔加里大学癌症研究室博士后。她的第一本长篇科幻/奇幻小说《长生论文》(The Longevity Thesis)于今年10月付梓出版，甫发行即登上亚马逊当月畅销书前50名之列，现已行销全球。 <BR> <BR>奇幻文学界对这颗新星的诞生相当注目，同行对《长生论文》的评价是“行文优美，动感十足，充满神秘、悬念与感伤。”“传统的善与恶的对峙，令人屏息凝神，期待主人翁的胜利。” <BR> <BR>读者反馈“极富想像力与创造性。” <BR> <BR>那么是什么原因促使这位华裔医学女博士跻身科幻小说家的行列？她的灵感又来自哪里呢？怀着极大的兴趣，大纪元记者对詹妮弗进行了专访。 </P>
<P></P><B>一半中国血统 三个医学学位 </B><BR> <BR>詹妮弗生于1970年，加拿大萨斯卡彻温省，母亲是马来西亚的客家人，父亲为德国族裔，因此她拥有一半的中国血统。 <BR> <BR>尽管成长在纯西方的环境与氛围里，但因母亲的关系，詹妮弗自幼即接受了一些中国传统文化的教育。 <BR> <BR>“与中国大陆不同，马来西亚的华人保留了很多中国传统的美德与价值观。我对好坏、善恶、是非的判断基本上是中国传统式的。” <BR> <BR>与此类似，混血的她在日常生活中的爱好也是中西合璧的。她会同时喜欢太极与拳击，绢布刺绣与数字动画，《卧虎藏龙》与《第五元素》，马友友与贝多芬。 <BR> <BR>“两岁的时候，母亲递给我第一支铅笔，从那时起，我就开始写作了。” <BR> <BR>父亲对詹妮弗的写作方向起到了不可估量的作用。由于德国富产童话，身为德裔的父亲给了詹妮弗大量的童话书籍来阅读。与大多数人不同的是，詹妮弗随着年龄的增长，幼时埋下的对奇幻世界向往的种子，不仅没有被红尘万丈的现实生活扼杀磨灭，反尔愈加茁壮成长，枝繁叶茂。她笃信神灵与超自然力量的存在。 <BR> <BR>1992年，詹妮弗自加拿大著名高等学府亚伯塔大学药理系毕业；两年后，取得药理学硕士学位；在公司工作了四年，而后重返亚伯塔大学校园，于2004年获颁实验医学与病理学博士证书。
<P><B>串联梦境 几易其稿 廿载成书 </B><BR> <BR>“二十岁左右的时候，我开始慎重考虑写一部科幻小说。然后在梦里，我见到了一位长相特异的男子，他是一位医生。” <BR> <BR>詹妮弗自述她从酣睡中怵然惊醒，梦中人历历在目，她当下决定以他为主人翁，创作《长生论文》。 <BR> <BR>“书中的其他一些角色与生物也陆陆续续地出现在梦里。每当他们出现的时候，我就会惊醒，然后赶快起床拿笔记下来。而那些睡到自然醒的梦，我一点内容都不记得了。” <BR> <BR>除了梦境之外，创作一个现实生活中并不存在，而其他书中又无据可查的奇幻世界，想像是如何聚而为物的呢？ <BR> <BR>“经常会有画面在我眼前一闪而过。比如书中生活在地下世界的文明人类，他们的房间、家具、衣着、地下圣河的风景、岩洞等等，突然间就会纤毫毕现地呈现在我面前，我所做的就是把它们忠实地描述下来。” <BR> <BR>詹妮弗强调，灵感的不期而至并不等于她的写作是天上掉馅饼。她必须串联所有的片段，思前想后，融会贯通，再列出下一步需要的人和物。 <BR> <BR>“我会开张清单，写下我要创作的新人物所必备的特征，然后在吃饭、散步或做其他事情的时候，那个人物就会活生生地自动跳到我的脑海，我马上把他写入故事里。不需要绞尽脑汁去思考，那样根本没用。” <BR> <BR>由于学业紧张，工作繁忙，詹妮弗耗时九年方始完成初稿。然后在与出版商的不断沟通中，几易其稿，最终几近二十年后，《长生论文》才得见天日。
<P><B>奇幻写作与科学研究互惠 </B><BR> <BR>“科学研究工作使我在写故事的时候，能够做到结构严谨，条理清晰。而奇幻写作的经历则帮助我在科研中思路开阔，想别人之不想。” <BR> <BR>詹妮弗是卡尔加里大学癌症研究室公认的优秀博士后，已有多篇论文发表。从上大学至今，更是获奖不断。她的奇思异想还继续对她的科研工作起着灵机一动的作用。 <BR> <BR>“比如说癌细胞是怎么转移的呢？如同写作一样，我的脑子里会突然闪现出一些东西，嗯，也许是这样吧。然后通过实验验证，不断修改，在某一方向上找到最合理的解释。” <BR> <BR>由于在《长生论文》中以大量笔墨描写了一位邪恶的教授，詹妮弗不得不向她的两位有可能脸色发青的研究生指导教授澄清，“那个并不是以你为原型的，请千万不要对号入座。”
<P><B>出版商嘉许 续写中下集 </B><BR> <BR>边缘科幻小说出版社市场部经理Justyn Perry介绍，决定出版《长生论文》，是因为“它从一开始就抓住了读者的眼球，让人迫不及待地想知道下面发生了什么。” <BR> <BR>他说，一般作家或者写科幻小说，或者写奇幻小说，前者的最佳代表是《星际旅行》，后者如《指环王》，而詹妮弗的新作鲜有地同时具备了科幻与奇幻双重特色。 <BR> <BR>“《长生论文》有科技的内容在里面，因为詹妮弗本身科研背景的缘故，同时它描述了另一世界的景象，则属于奇幻范畴。” <BR> <BR>Perry表示，对新生作家来说，詹妮弗已取得了相当喜人的成绩，她的下两部著作将是继续《长生论文》未完的结局。
<P><B>附：《长生论文》故事简介 </B><BR> <BR>这是一本关于Antronos，一位医学院研究生，立志学习长生之道的奇幻小说。 <BR> <BR>Antronos小时候生活在沙漠里，那是一块魔法之地，房屋与不死族的奇怪生物每时每刻都在变形移动。当时的文明人类生活在地下世界，由一条巨大的圣河哺育生命，并借由无数块玻璃天窗采撷日光。地下人类并不喜欢头顶上的沙漠种族，认为他们怪异而低下。 <BR> <BR>Antronos的母亲在他少年时不幸死亡，因而无法再保护他免于沙漠魔力的侵蚀。他的外形逐渐发生了变化：双眼变成紫色，瞳孔呈钻石形状，全身布满片片鳞甲。他着迷于地下世界，因此搬到那里，但不见容于当地人类。他千方百计念完了医学学位，并成为一位很棒的大夫。一些富有而重要的人物聘用他做私人医生，他终于开始在地下世界找到了自己的一席之地。 <BR> <BR>由于始终无法接受母亲的死亡，他四处寻找可以指导他研究长生之道的老师。他对一位外科老教授发生了兴趣，却不知道后者以邪恶魔法盗取人体器官以延长另一部分人的生命，并用魔力控制那部分人的思想。 <BR> <BR>老教授接受了Antronos做学生，施展魔法使他行凶杀人，并试图强迫他控制那些聘用他做私人医生的显贵人物的思想，威胁他如不服从，就会死得很难看。Antronos不允许自己为邪恶所用，决心反抗。他要保护周围的人们，拯救那些思想被控的生命。 <BR> <BR>但，他将如何去做？<BR></P></font></td>
