<p style="text-indent: 22pt; line-height: 200%"><font color="#333333">新唐人电视台（New Tang Dynasty Television，简称新唐人)对亚洲地区通过卫星播放的信号，被欧洲卫星通讯公司以电源供电出现异常为由从6月16日突然中断，新唐人电视台发言人洪凯莉28日表示，欧卫公司至今仍没有就停播一事向新唐人提供任何正式解释。
<P>洪凯莉说：新唐人已尽力同欧卫公司联系，并通过业内人士了解，确认欧卫公司完全有能力立即恢复新唐人节目卫星信号在亚洲的播出，但是受中共压力而中断信号。洪凯莉表示：中共在奥运前不仅未能履行承诺改善人权，反而变本加厉地钳制新闻自由、屠杀人民。最近，西藏的血迹未干，中共又为了转嫁国内危机，而制造了法拉盛事件，在自由的土地上演共产红色恐怖。欧卫与这样的邪恶政权合作，无异与虎谋皮；中断受中国人民喜爱的新唐人信号既不道德、又违反合约，更是助纣为虐。
<P>她呼吁欧卫不要被中共利益所收买，马上恢复新唐人在亚洲的播出。
<P><B>奥运前7周 新唐人亚洲信号被中断</B>
<P>据洪凯莉介绍：纽约时间6月16日傍晚，欧洲卫星(EutelSat，简称欧卫)公司以“电源供电出现异常”为由，关闭了新唐人通过其W5卫星向中国大陆播出的卫星转发器，使播出停止。至今还没有就停播一事向新唐人提供任何正式解释。
<P>洪凯莉说：新唐人是唯一没有被中共过滤而能够在中国大陆收看的独立卫星电视。但是“自17日开始，新唐人电视台接到了来自大陆大量的电子邮件及电话，投诉他们收看不到新唐人的电视节目。”
<P>洪凯莉表示：很多中国大陆的观众非常重视收看新唐人电视节目。在亚洲的播出中断之后，新唐人不断通过各种途径询问信号何时能够恢复。欧卫公司反应冷淡。她说:“我们积极与欧卫联络，但11天过去了，欧卫公司的反应非常冷淡，没有就停播一事向新唐人提供任何正式解释。”
<P><B>欧卫扼杀新唐人 事出有因</B>
<P>洪凯莉表示:欧卫公司其实有能力马上恢复播出。“他们可以使用备用的卫星转发器，马上就可以播出（新唐人的节目）。”
<P>洪凯莉认为:根据目前的迹象显示，欧卫公司是在北京奥运前7周，以电源故障为藉口，故意关闭新唐人使用的和所有其它新唐人能够使用的几个卫星转发器，迫使新唐人播出无限期停止。
<P>洪凯莉还说:据新唐人的多方调查，由卫星工业界内部消息人士透露，此次停播新唐人是欧卫在中共长期压力下，其主席Giuliano Berretta为讨好中共并企图获得其生意。
<P>据悉，2008年6月16日，欧卫W5卫星制造商的最大股东阿尔卡特(Alcatel)与中共签署了10亿美元的合同。几小时后，就传出新唐人电视台经欧洲卫星公司W5卫星对亚洲地区播放的信号突然中断。
<P>2005年，欧卫公司曾向新唐人提出解约。据国际记者联盟（International Federation of Journalists）的消息说，中共政权是以奥运会期间中国上空的卫星合约为条件，要求欧卫撤下新唐人节目的。
<P>华尔街日报披露，欧卫公司2005年曾经试图以停止新唐人在亚洲的播出为诱饵，来换取北京当局提供的巨大经济利益。
<P>其后，由于各界正义人士的呼吁以及美国和欧盟议员以及国际媒体的强烈谴责压力下，欧卫公司最后才恢复与新唐人签约，承诺继续新唐人电视信号在亚洲的播出。
<P><B>呼吁欧卫公司不要被中共利益所收买</B>
<P>洪凯莉指出:欧卫必须遵循国际和欧洲相关协定以及它自己的公司宪章。这些协定和宪章都要求它实践不歧视，机会平等，和尊重媒体多元化的原则。 在法律和道义上，欧卫都有明确的义务立即恢复新唐人信号。它必须遵循自己的宪章，服务于信息的自由流通，而不是和世界上最大的言论自由的掠夺者中共合作。
