<P>10月26日上午9时，记者接到兴城市一名市民打来的热线电话，告知在兴城古城外一民宅的铁门上开出了19朵白色的小花，很奇特，谁也不认识这是什么花。上午10时，记者来到这家民宅，记者看到了铁门上开的19朵白色的小花。这些小花都是从铁门上的小洞中长出来的，这些小洞有针眼般大小，一共19个小洞，一个小洞长出一朵花，此花花茎细如金丝，还没有一根头发丝粗，长度大约有1公分，灰冠状似金钟，呈白色。

<P>记者在拍摄照片时，兴城市一名对昆虫类和植物颇有研究的学者于先生用手摸了一下这些微小的小白花，感到十分柔软。他用两个手指捏住小白花的花冠，用力往外拉，往外抻长了大约有两厘米后，松开手指，小白花的花茎不但没有断，还和皮筋一样十分头弹性，又缩了回去，回到原位。学者又用双手的使劲挤压了一下花冠，花冠开始瘪了，于先生双手一松，花冠象吹气球一样又恢复了原状。 </P>
<P>花茎有弹性也不是第一次观察到，据该网2007年9月25日的报导， 9月25日，本溪的张先生无意中发现在一串巨峰葡萄中间的一粒葡萄上长着5株“优昙婆罗花”。记者经过张先生同意，用手指碰了一下花茎，发现花茎并不像想象那样脆弱，还很有弹性。
