<p style="text-indent: 22pt; line-height: 200%"><font color="#333333"><P>清朝乾隆年间，有一无锡商人，携三百两银子在淮海间买货。船过丹阳，见岸上一客背大包袱，急呼搭船，商人让停船相接。船主摇手说：“此地盗贼最多，别被拖累了，还是别管闲事吧。”商人坚持，船主不得已停船，让那客人上船住在后舱。船到丹徒，客人背着包袱出来，说：“我是来丹徒访亲的，现在已经到了，我要走了。”向商人道谢而去。一会儿，商人开箱取衣服，发现箱中三百两银子都变成了瓦石，知道被那人偷换，懊恨不已。<BR><BR>这时天下起雨来，越来越冷，又起逆风，船不能进。商人想银子已经被偷，无法买货了，不如先回家，再做打算。于是呼船主返回，答应仍给他们原定的价钱。船主答应了，于是顺风张帆而归。</P>
<P>船过奔牛镇，又见有人背着行李立在雨中，全身淋漓，大呼搭船。船主细看，就是那个偷银子的人，急忙伏在舱内，让水手去接他。那人不曾料到这条船这么快会回来，天晚雨大，急不及待，把行李先交给水手，自己跃身入船舱，忽然看见那商人在船上，大惊狂奔入水，不知去向。</P>
<P>商人打开那包袱看，原来的三百两银子尚在，外有一百多粒珍珠，价可千金，商人从此成了富人。</P>
