<P></P><STRONG>*最受欢迎网站之一*</STRONG>
<P>一个越来越为读者青睐的网路媒体“维基媒体”第三届年会星期五在台北召开。来自几十个国家的400多名维基媒体用户出席了大会。
<P>维基媒体基金会董事会主席弗洛伦斯.迪瓦德女士(Florence Devouard) 说，从2004年创办以来，维基媒体已经发展成提供多种信息和服务的综合网站，包括人们熟悉的维基百科、维基词典、维基教科书、维基语录、维基书籍、维基资料库、维基大学等九个项目。其中仅维基百科就有7百多万个条目，语言超过250种，用户超过680万。她说，维基百科是全球最受欢迎的10个网站之一。
<P>尽管维基媒体的发展更加充实和丰富了它提供的内容和项目，但是这样一个越来越受广大读者欢迎的网站，却遭到中国当局的封锁，使超过一亿的中国网民无法使用这一免费信息和服务的平台。
<P><STRONG>*禁→解禁→封锁至今*</STRONG>
<P>维基媒体基金会董事会主席弗洛伦斯.迪瓦德说， “中国政府仍然还没有解除对维基媒体的封锁。大约一、两个月前，我们以为中国取消了对维基媒体的封锁，但那只是某种技术上的原因所致，几天后网站又被中国当局给封锁了。”
<P>迪瓦德说，大约两年前，中国当局开始禁止大陆网民登陆维基媒体的网站，时间持续了几个星期。然后中国当局解禁了几个月，但后来又再一次封锁维基媒体，直至今天。
<P>中国当局禁止大陆网民登陆维基媒体，让免费向全球网民提供信息和服务的维基管理人员感到很困惑。维基媒体基金会董事会主席弗洛伦斯.迪瓦德说，维基媒体的创始人之一吉米.威尔士将就此事跟中国的有关官员交涉和协商，力争中国当局早日解除封锁。
<P>“吉米.威尔士将于9月前往中国，会晤一些中国官员，跟他们协商解除对维基的封锁，以便能让中国人民再重新登陆维基百科，并贡献出他们的智慧，让更多的人分享。”
<P><STRONG>*政治中立*</STRONG>
<P>迪瓦德强调，维基媒体是一个义务提供信息和免费分享信息的网站，没有任何政治倾向和政治主张。她说，维基希望中国人民能有机会把他们的知识贡献给维基百科，让中国以外的世人共同分享。
<P>目前在维基百科中的中文条目已经超过10万多条，是近年来发展最快的语种之一。维基媒体预计，一旦中国当局解除对他们的封锁，维基百科中的中文条目，将由于中国大陆用户的猛增，在一、两年内迅速超过一百万条。</P></font></td>
