<p style="text-indent: 22pt; line-height: 200%"><font color="#333333"><P>薛肇，不知道是何方人氏，和进士崔宇一同在江西庐山读书。一同读书的四人中有两人学业未成中途就离去了，崔宇读书非常勤苦，后来考中了进士，也走了。只有薛肇留在庐山专门修道，但不知谁是他的师父。数年之后，他得了神仙之道。
<P>当时庐山下有一个患风劳的人，多年医治无效，在家等死。薛肇路过他家，在门口的树荫下歇脚，听他家人说起患者，就请求进去看看。看了病人后，薛肇说：“这病可以治愈。”然后就留下一粒比米粒还小的丹，对患者的家属说：“明天早晨吃半粒，用水服下，就能见效。如果还不好，三天后把另外半粒服下。”他的家人认为给病人治病已求遍了名医，化费了上万的金钱，都没治好，患者骨瘦如柴，仅剩一口气而已。这半个米粒丹就能救了他？然而到了第二天中午病人服下半粒丹后，立刻就能起床了，到了中午，能吃饭了，并可以拄着拐杖行走了。三天后，病人变得健康壮实。等到服下剩下的那半粒，变得神色飘逸，肌肤如玉，毛发又黑又亮，面貌象二十多岁的人。 </P>
<P>过了一个多月，薛肇又回到患者这里来，对他说：“你的骨相带着仙气，所以吃了我的药不仅能治好病，还能得道。”于是薛生就传授给他修道的要诀，那人就登上五老峰去寻仙去了。 </P>
<P>崔宇考中进士后很快就被任命为东畿县尉，赴任途中经过三乡驿时，忽然遇见了薛肇，于是下马叙旧。崔宇见薛肇显得风尘扑朴，言谈中颇有同情伶悯之意。崔宇以为自己考中进士并当了官，洋洋自得。谈了半天，已是下午了，薛对崔宇说：“贫居离这不远，难得相逢，就去我家畅叙一宿，你看怎样？”崔宇同意了。就跟在薛肇后面，把车马仆从都留在客店了。 </P>
<P>开始时走上一条小路，很荒凉，走出一二里后，景色大变，田原花木都与人间相异。又走了很久，来到一所高楼，院里殿阁森沉，象是王侯的府邸，崔宇心里十分惊奇。薛肇先进了门，有几十个人将他簇拥拥着上了一个大殿。然后薛肇就召崔宇登上台阶，和他坐着说话。过了半天，薛肇对崔宇说：“你公务在身不可能在这里多住，我们谈一个通宵就可以了。他命马上开筵，请崔宇到另一个殿堂里去饮酒玩乐。席上只有薛、崔两个人，别无他人。四十多个女子列坐在殿上奏乐，薛肇从中选了十个女子同饮。其中有个弹箜篌的女子姿容俊美，崔宇和那女子邻坐。看见她的箜篌上刻着十个字：“天际识归舟，云间辨江树。”就默默记住了。筵席散后，薛生问崔宇喜欢哪一个女子，崔宇说喜欢弹箜篌的那位。薛生说：“以后可以把她嫁给你，但是现在还不行。” </P>
<P>第二天黎明时薛肇与崔宇送别，赠给他三十斤金子，并送到官道上，依依惜别而去。崔宇做官一个多月后，和一位姓柳的女子结了婚。婚后，崔宇总觉得在哪儿见过柳氏，但又想不起来。有一天闲遐之时，崔宇让柳氏取来箜篌为他弹上一曲。崔宇一眼看见箜篌上有一行字，就是那两句诗，问柳氏是怎么回事。柳氏说：“我有一次得了热疾，梦中有位使者追我，说，西城的大仙陈溪人薛君那儿有客人，命五百里内会弹奏的又未出阁的姑娘都去。一共找去了四十多人，我就随着去了，与薛大仙和一位客人崔少府饮酒奏乐玩了一夜。等我醒来时，病就好了。薛君，就是那位神仙了，而崔少府的相貌神态，和夫君你一模一样。”于是崔宇也说了那天的情景，夫妻俩大为惊骇，这才知道薛肇果然已经得道成仙了。 </P>
