<p style="text-indent: 22pt; line-height: 200%"><font color="#333333"><P>多年以前，我曾听过一堂关于“信任”的课。那堂课的主题是探讨人与人之间的关系，老师奥尔格先生问听课的学生，什么才是真正的信任。大家给出的答案五花八门。奥尔格先生听后没有发表自己的见解，而是话锋一转，突然向我们解释起物理学上著名的“钟摆原理”：钟摆自最高点往下运动，它来回摆动达到的高度点绝不会高于最高点。由于摩擦力和重力的作用，它的摆动幅度会越来越小，直至最后完全静止。</P>
<P>为形象说明这一点，奥尔格先生当场做了演示。他用一根3英寸长的细线绑了一把钥匙，再用图钉将线的一头固定在黑板上。然后他将钥匙拨到一定的高度，放手让它左右自由摆动。奥尔格先生在一旁观测它运动的轨迹，在每次钥匙摆动达到的高度点，用粉笔在黑板上做出记号。大约一分钟以后，钥匙完全停止摆动。黑板上的记号完全印证了钟摆原理。</P>
<P>做了这个实验之后，奥尔格先生问大家，是否信任他，是否相信钟摆原理。所有的同学都举起手来表示相信。在得到学生们肯定的回答后，他叫人从外面抬进一口硕大的钟，并让人把它悬挂在教室的钢筋横梁上。接着，他请一位同学坐到桌子上的一把椅子上。那把椅子靠背贴着墙，这位同学坐下后后脑勺恰好贴着水泥墙壁。然后，奥尔格先生将钟推到距离这位同学鼻子只有一英寸的地方。一切就绪后，奥尔格先生再一次为大家解释了钟摆原理，接着说道：“这口钟有270磅重，我在距他鼻子一英寸处放开钟，钟再次摆回时，离他鼻子的距离只会多于一英寸，绝不会碰到他的鼻子，更不会撞上他。”</P>
<P>然后，奥尔格先生看着这位同学的眼睛，问：“你相信这个物理原理吗？我向你保证，你不会受伤，你信任我吗？”大家都注视着这位同学，他脸上汗珠直冒，最后他才点了点头。“谢谢。”奥尔格先生说着放开了那口钟。伴随着呼呼的声音，这个庞然大物从最高点往斜下方坠，迅速摆向另一端。在到达另一端的最高点后，突然转向往回摆动，朝着这位同学坐着的地方迫近。然后，就在几十双眼睛的注视之下，这位同学大叫一声，在钟还未靠近自己之前，几乎是从桌子上一跃而起，避开了似乎要把他撞得头破血流的重物。随后，大家看见这口钟在离椅子不远的点停住了，接着又摆回去。根据钟到墙壁的距离判断，钟绝对不会撞到那位同学——如果他还坐在那里的话。</P>
<P>屋子里鸦雀无声。奥尔格先生微笑着问大家：“他相信钟摆原理吗？他信任我吗？”同学们都异口同声：“不！”</P>
<P>至此，我想我们大家对什么是信任都有了新的理解。</P>
